The What to Do workshop series
Psychoeducational workshops are not group therapy. Unlike group therapy that focuses on developing relationships between clients, psychoeducational groups are invested in building skills and developing healthy coping mechanisms. Facilitators - experienced therapists - lead the knowledge-based discussions and assist in goal setting.
What's covered
Some of the issues covered in the workshops include energy investment to improve life/work integration, boundary setting, communications skills, conflict resolution, dealing with difficult people (including bullies), boundary setting, managing unrealistic workloads and performance expectations, analyzing strengths and weaknesses, imperfect perfectionism, identifying and making use of behavioural style preferences, assessing motivators and demotivators, programming worry, improving sleep, and planning for happiness.
Our Return to Work workshop
Our most popular and longest running workshop - over a decade and counting - meets monthly, over 4 days, 3-hour sessions each day. Sessions are now virtual and limited to 12 participants, all anticipating return to work after an extended absence. Participants are equipped with tools for a successful re-entry, including strategies to resolve non-medical barriers impacting job performance. Content includes preparing for the return to work meeting and, yes, knowing what to say to others on the first day back.
