Psychoeducational workshops are not group therapy. Unlike group therapy that focuses on developing relationships between clients, psychoeducational groups are invested in building skills and developing healthy coping mechanisms. Facilitators - experienced therapists - lead the knowledge-based discussions and assist in goal setting.
Some of the issues covered in the workshops include energy investment to improve life/work integration, boundary setting, communications skills, conflict resolution, dealing with difficult people (including bullies), boundary setting, managing unrealistic workloads and performance expectations, analyzing strengths and weaknesses, imperfect perfectionism, identifying and making use of behavioural style preferences, assessing motivators and demotivators, programming worry, improving sleep, and planning for happiness.
